Jaffa Journal

The Jaffa Shrine is a temple (chapter) organized under Shriners International in Altoona, PA.  We are a fraternity based on fun, fellowship, and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth.  The Shrine's charitable arm is the Shrines Hospitals for Children, a network of children's hospitals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Jaffa Shrine Center, built in 1930, supports a 3500-seat multipurpose auditorium as well as a 1000-seat banquet hall.  The current Shrine Center is the headquarters to the Jaffa Shriners and is one of the largest convention centers in central Pennsylvania.

Donate to the Jaffa Shrine or one of the Shriners Hospitals for Children. With your gracious contributions you can make a difference in the lives of members of our community as well as children who need our support.

Units and Clubs are more than just “the guys with the funny hats in the parades.”  The Units and Clubs come together to make events at the Jaffa Shrine possible.   Whether it is working the concession stands, taking tickets, helping organize events, or selling souvenirs, these volunteers are the ones that make it happen.

Welcome to Jaffa

The Jaffa Kiddies Christmas Party has been a long tradition at our shrine facility.  As a new member of Jaffa in 1969, I remember the large turnout of shriners and their families sitting down to a full course turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn,  and filling, with a slice of ice cream...

To All Nobles, Ladies and the Friends of Jaffa, This year’s Mid Atlantic Shrine Convention in Virginia Beach went as it has in the past. It can’t get much better! All of the Jaffa Units put on their best show for the parade and gave the spectators something to cheer and wave about. All of you, our...
